The American Red Cross is constantly on the lookout for volunteers to give not only
their money and blood but that often more valuable resource - TIME!
There are volunteer opportunities for all ages, interests, and talents at the
Clearfield - Jefferson Chapter, including:
CPR and First Aid instructors - Approximately 20-25 training hours involved.
Office Personnel - Someone to help out with general office tasks, answering the
phone, making copies, helping set up for classes and meetings, etc...
Disaster Action Team members - volunteers who assume responsibility as first
responders during non-business hours. They assist anyone affected by local disaster
by helping meet their immediate emergency needs such as shelter, food and clothing.
D.A.T. members are vital to the effectiveness of ARC response. We need volunteers
who are willing to commit to the needs of the community when disaster strikes. Training
provided.
Armed Forces Emergency Services - After-hours phone coverage. Training
provided.
Special event workers: Many fund-raising opportunities from delivering ordered
items to working at an informational display booth, to helping with annual events such as
blood screenings, art auctions or speaking at events.
By joining the Red Cross team, you could help someone learn lifesaving CPR, comfort
a family burned out of their home, help flood victims get back on their feet or make that
critical connection between a soldier and his family. In other words, you could make a
huge impact on your community and gain a huge amount of satisfaction and pride.
